Introduction
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing from VTCT is a job-ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards. This qualification will provide you with the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as a hairdresser. Throughout this qualification you will ensure responsibility to reduce risks to health and safety, give customers a positive impression, advise and consult with clients, shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp, change hair colour, cut hair using basic techniques, style and finish hair and set and dress hair.

Course structure
Mandatory units: you will need to complete all of the following units;
• Advise and consult with clients
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Change hair colour
• Style and finish hair
• Set and dress hair
• Cut hair using basic techniques
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Optional units: you will also need to complete 1 or more of the following units, achieving at least 9 credits
• Relax hair (9 credits)
• Perm and neutralise hair (10 credits)
• Plait and twist hair (5 credits)
• Temporarily attach hair to enhance a style (3 credits)
• Remove hair extensions (5 credits)
• Fulfil salon reception duties (6 credits)
• Cut men’s hairstyles (6 credits)
Course fees:
The fee for course VTCT Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing (HB2N2) is from £3245*, there are two options
Option 1
– Attend at least 3 days a week, 6 months to complete
– Course fee: £3495 – Pay in full for £250 discount or £375 deposit + 6 months @ £520
Option 2
– Attend at least 1 day a week, 12 months to complete
– Course fee: £3995 – Pay in full for £250 discount or £375 deposit + 12 months @ £302
