Course structure
Mandatory units: you will need to complete all of the following units;
• Cut men’s hair using basic techniques
• Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
• Dry and finish men’s hair
• Create basic outlines and detailing in hair
• Advise and consult with clients
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Optional units: You will also need to complete at least 1 units from this group and achieve at least 9 credits
• Relax hair (9 credits)
• Assist with shaving services (5 credits)
• Colour and lighten men’s hair (14 credits)
• Perm and neutralise hair (10 credits)
• Plait and twist hair (5 credits)
• Temporarily attach hair to enhance a style (3 credits)
• Fulfil salon reception duties (6 credits)

Course fees:
The fee for course HB2N1 Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering is from £2245, there are two options
Option 1
– Attend a minimum of 3 days a week, 6 months to complete
– Course fee: £2245 – No monthly payment options
Option 2
– Attend at least 1 day a week, 12 months to complete
– Course fee: £3495 – Pay in full or £375 deposit + 12 months @ £260
(Please note: option 1 is new for 2024, and only available for a limited time)

Course duration
