Alan Beak
Alan started cutting hair at the age of just 15, and had a full column of clients by the age of 16. By the time he was 17 he had already won 2 trophies, and he went on to win ‘Barber of the year 2004’ and ‘Barber of the year 2005’, In 2011 he added ‘Barber of the Year at the Afro Awards’ to his collection of wins. Alan runs his own barbershop, as well as tutoring at the college he gained his awards at, teaching students his skills and talents in barbering, from pattern designing to funky cutting and ace of fading!
Simon Shaw
After ten successful years as Artistic Director of Wahl (UK) Ltd, Simon is one of the most popular and highly regarded hairdressers/barbers within the industry. Simon is known for his passionate, innovative and fun approach to hairdressing/barbering and education. He takes part in hairdressing/barbering exhibitions, stage shows and seminars at the Wahl Academy. We are lucky enough at LAFHAB to have seen Simon in action first hand after he has held a master-class at the Academy this year.
Sam Campagna
Sam has dedicated his career to mentoring hairdressers and barbers in contemporary and classic haircutting, receiving the Honorary Fellowship Award from MK college for his contribution to education. Alongside his role as a Wahl Artistic Team member, Sam runs Alternative Barbering Co. applying the same ethos of a professional staff, family environment and developing a mentorship program to help guide the next generation of barbers and hairdressers. Now in his 20th year of hairdressing and barbering, you will find Sam educating on every Wahl platform in the UK and across the globe.
Dean Gleeson
From being featured in BarberEVO and Modern Barber magazine with his own stand-out collections to being crowned the winner of ‘British Barber of the Year’ and ‘Pro Barber World Series’, Dean’s relentless passion and hard work continues to shake the barbering industry in the UK. Specialising in pattern work and create artistic designs using clippers and fading techniques, Dean enjoys educating those that aspire to reach his skill level alongside the Wahl Artistic Team in exhibitions, seminars and workshops around the UK.
