Are you offering afro barbering cuts in your barbers? Hosted by Michael Damiano (former ‘Barber of the Year’, ‘Hairdresser of the Year’ and ‘Afro Barber of the Year’), our 1-day afro hair barbering workshop will give you the specific skills to cut, manage and finish afro hair, resulting in a high-quality balanced cut and finish.
Workshop content:
Understanding hair texture Familiarize yourself with the different textures and patterns in afro hair. This will help you choose the right cutting techniques for each individual.
Consultation
Have a conversation with your client about their hair goals, expectations, and preferences. This will allow you to tailor the cut to their specific needs.
Scissors vs clippers
Decide whether to use scissors or clippers, or a combination of both. Clippers can be useful for removing bulk, while scissors can provide more precision and control.
Cutting with the grain
Always cut with the direction of hair growth to avoid causing any damage or creating an uneven shape.
Tools
Choose the right tools for the job. Going through and advising the best clipper to use is essential when cutting afro hair.
